The Toll Project
Living with kids doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style – our Toll Project is certainly proof of this. Once owned by a parent, this young family was definitely feeling the karma of being a carefree kid in this home themselves – with lots of wear and tear to fix, poor flow and a style that was not their own.
The first thing to go was the wall dividing the kitchen and living room allowing light to flood into the whole main floor and making room for a centre island. Moving the kitchen away from the patio doors allowed for safer passage and created a beautiful dining area that can easily be accessed while entertaining inside and out. Another important change was shrinking a large picture window – not only did this allow the counter to continue uninterrupted along the entire back wall, but also allowed us to create a gorgeous focal point with the shiplap hood and now matching windows. Add in new flat panelled cabinetry in contrasting finishes, striking countertops and lighting, this home feels bright, inviting and full of energy once again.
